Trump Cards For The Ignorant Thick-Headed

When someone decides to push me when I'm having the WORST off day, I take my paws out and stand my ground. I don't give a fuck who you are; I don't give a shit how old you are. I don't care if you're a stranger, family member, best friend- I know when I'm in the right. Usually I let ignorance slide, if I'm feeling content, but when you mess with a shark, you're going to get bit.

So, I was TRYING to have a DECENT day yesterday, but alas, ignorant people wouldn't allow it.

I was checking in on my Facebook before dinner, and I saw one of my friends share this photo that said "Gay pride was not born of a need to celebrate being gay, but our right to exist without persecution. So instead of wondering why there isn't a straight pride movement, be thankful you don't need one."

And one of my so-called "friends" lashed out in an offended manner. "Sorry Eric, I like you, but I STRONGLY disagree."

I'm censoring the name for shitty "privacy" reasons.

"Friend" :  I am a woman...one of the most beaten, downtrodden, disrespected, raped, tortured members of society since the beginning of time, and still today...I put on my big girl panties and sucked it up.....

Me: I feel like I missed something here?
Me: The picture itself is not specifically putting homosexuals before females, because there are females who are homosexual. It's just the expression of pride being created because every one deserves to have some form of pride.

"Friend" : No one is throwing a parade for the "persecuted", isn't that what your post says...your gay parade is because you're persecuted? Or did I miss something?
"Friend" : Because there are many in society who are persecuted, but they don't throw "pride" parades, they just sort of get on with their lives...politely and such...

Me: There's a cause and an effect for different sorts of things. Being gay has been a crime in this world for a very long time. Perhaps you should research the stonewall riots if you haven't already. It seems your looking at this from an individual's point of view. Those individuals who have been "persecuted" could have been for a bunch of different reasons which they may or may not find anyone else with the same problems to support each other with. But when you put a crowd together who have continually been discriminated against, and to this day, which is still a HUGE factor all around the world, would be much worse if there wasn't a gay rights movement to begin with. Countless people have been killed for being gay, and to this day, are still being killed for being who they are. Countless people, even CHILDREN, kill themselves for being ashamed of being gay.

Me: Those "people" who go on with their lives, can have no trouble living their life out without any more major problems. But when you're gay and you try and "get on" with life, you can't. There's always that latent fear of the reoccurring, homophobic system ready to strike again and again and again.

Me: Between 1947 and 1950, 1,700 federal job applications were denied, 4,380 people were discharged from the military, and 420 were fired from their government jobs for being suspected homosexuals.

Me: Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and police departments kept lists of known homosexuals, their favored establishments, and friends; the U.S. Post Office kept track of addresses where material pertaining to homosexuality was mailed.State and local governments followed suit: bars catering to homosexuals were shut down, and their customers were arrested and exposed in newspapers. Cities performed "sweeps" to rid neighborhoods, parks, bars, and beaches of gays.

"Friend" : Well, seems you "win"... Poor persecuted you. Your posts seem to show quite a happy life, but I suppose not so much. In between your research of homosexual persecution, take a moment or two, broaden your horizons and collect that same data on other persecuted segments of society. You may be shocked at the similarities. Peace : )

Me: I'm pretty much already educated in the facts that I need to know. The world's history will always have a grim side to it, and I'm not specifically speaking about one majority of the population, I'm speaking about the whole. Today, it's just dealing with trying to recover from the passed-down habits/teachings of histories generations and generations. And also, dealing with the people who abide by those habits and teachings that were passed down to them. As long as those habits and teachings exist, hate will exist. As long as hate exists, persecution will exist. And now we're back to square one.

"Friend" : Just know...just because I don't agree with the person, or their lifestyle, DOES NOT mean I (or anyone else) hates the person. It is absolutely possible to disagree or not condone something without hate! Don't get to bogged down in the liberal mindset. Again...peace : )

I don't give a shit who you are, what your age is, if you're well respected, who your family is, what your history is like, what your religion is, what your political views are, when I'm having an off day, I will rebuttal, and make you resent starting shit with me.

This woman, basically said she "likes" me, but she does not accept me for who I am. How the FUCK can you truly be friends with someone like that? You PARTLY like them? How the hell do you only like a portion of a person?
This woman assumed I was some young, stupid kid who shares gay pride pictures, but no, that's not who I am. I know my shit, I know my history, I KNOW when I'm in the right.

High-horses are created for the people who are afraid of being "equal" with someone who they look down on. When someone comes strutting in my path on their "high-horse" and tries to look down on me, I will fucking tear that ignorance off their face and show them the true reality that they avoid acknowledging.

I don't go "looking" for arguments / debates, I'm simply using facebook in my leisure time. I don't label people ignorant until they present their narrow-mindedness and shove the label in my face.

Ignorance knows no bounds apparently.
